Tips for Washing Duvets at Home (And When to Call Us)

Duvets should be washed at least twice a year — more often if you have allergies or pets. Here's everything you need to know.

Home washing tips:

Check the care label first. Most synthetic duvets can be machine washed at 60°C. Feather and down duvets can be washed at lower temperatures. If your duvet says "dry clean only" — bring it to us.

You'll need a large-capacity machine. Most domestic washing machines aren't big enough for a double duvet or larger. If you try to force it in, it won't wash properly and may damage the machine.

Use a small amount of detergent — too much leaves residue that's hard to rinse out.

Dry thoroughly. An incompletely dried duvet will develop mould and musty smells inside. Run it through the dryer on a low heat multiple times, adding dryer balls to help redistribute the filling.
